ABOUT ME

Hi, I'm Rachel. I'm 23 years old and I am a mountain biker. I've been racing bikes for 10 years now. I started racing cross-country when I was 13. I loved racing and travelling, and I was so excited when I got to race my first world cup, in Mont-Sainte-Anne in 2012 and shortly after, I travelled overseas for the first time to race at world championships in Saalfelden, Austria. I raced xc for about 6 years, attended multiple world cups and world championships, got a national title, trained with the national team... I learned a lot about the sport, about training, friendship, travelling, balance, about life in general and also a lot about me. I learned that my favorite thing was technical sections and steep descents. So, I started racing enduro, went from Eastern States Cup to Enduro World Series quite quickly. By the end of 2017, I got on my first DH bike ever, from that point I was hooked to gravity racing. This year, I'm focused on DH world cups and a few EWS. I'm very much looking forward to a full season of fun and speed on the big bikes.

On the adulating side of things, I'm trying my best to combine bike racing with college to ensure I have a big shiny future. I'm currently halfway through a Kinesiology BSC at Laval University in Quebec City. I'm also taking additional classes in Nutrition and Management. In Fall 2020, I'm planning on doing a Kinesiology Major in Sports Psychology and Motor Behavior at University of Tennessee in Knoxville. It's the only Major that combines Sports Psychology and Physiology, it really sounds like the ticket! I've also been a sports massage therapist for a few years now and plan on combining alloy skills and learning into helping athletes reach the highest levels in sports, just as I aim right now.

Rachel xx
